Flames were showing when Burket Fire crews responded to a house fire on Saturday night.
Crews were on scene at 8:20 p.m. at 3665 South SR 25 in Palestine and called Mentone fire fighters for a full assist.
The home is owned by Doug Kittrell but was occupied by Ricarado Vercusco, who was home when the fire started. Vercusco operates a mobile taco stand on North Detroit Street in Warsaw.
Burket Fire Chief Kevin McSherry said the fire started in the garage and spread through the house through a common attic area. He estimated damages at $50,000 and said there is no immediate cause.
