City councilman seeks clerk-treasurer seat

Warsaw Common Councilman Kyle Babcock says he plans to seek Warsaw’s Clerk-Treasurer’s seat when Elaine Call vacates the position in March.
Babcock, a Republican now serving as an at-large member of the city council, picked up the necessary paperwork Friday and plans to officially submit the form and a letter this week to Kosciusko County Republican Party Chairman Randy Girod. A caucus has been set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, in the Warsaw council chambers to name Call’s replacement.
Call told News with Stacey Page last Wednesday that she will resign her post effective March 5 to spend more time with her family. The formal announcement was then made at Wednesday night’s common council meeting.
Potential candidates for the city’s clerk-treasurer’s position must be a current Warsaw resident and have resided in the city for at least one year. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and must complete a CEB-5 form, which can be picked up at the Kosciusko County Clerk’s office in the Justice Building.
