February 8th, 2010Stacey PagePrint This Post Print This Post

On Feb. 5, an officer of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department was called to the area of Packerton Road and CR 225S in reference to a small child found walking in a field. A passerby had found the child and was holding him in a vehicle at the scene waiting for police to arrive.
When police arrived, the child was wearing long pants, socks and a jacket. The passerby removed the child’s wet socks and were waiting for medics to evaluate the boy, who was not able to say his name.
A police K-9 was used to track the boy’s path and the boy’s mother was located. She was brought to the scene to identify her son.
The Department of Child Services was also contacted. The boy’s mother reportedly had fallen asleep and the boy left the home, something she said he had done before at the babysitter’s.
On Feb. 5, officers were called to EMS T3 Lane, North Webster, for an unattended, natural death.
On Feb. 4, Matthew Warner of Anglin Road, Etna Green, reported the theft of a doberman pinscher from outside of his residence. The dog was allegedly removed from a chain and taken.
On Feb. 2, an officer was called to a residence on West CR 800S, Claypool, for an unattended death.
On Feb. 1, Robert Mills, South 1000W, Claypool, reported a burglary to his home. He said someone kicked in the front door and stole bank statements and miscellaneous financial records.
On Feb. 1, Leona Smith, EMS C27B Lane, Warsaw, reported a forced entry to her two properties, both of which are vacant and under renovations. Smith said the property on East CR 900S had been entered 10 or 11 times and it was the second or third break-in at the CR 100E location.

I am so thankful a good person found this child. We have way too many kids coming up missing the world anymore. Who ever this person was, THANK YOU for being there for this child and making sure he stayed safe…
