Congratulations to both the Warsaw Tigers Boys Basketball and Wawasee Warriors Boys Basketball teams! Both teams won their respective 2009-2010 Sectionals!
For the second time in three years Warsaw won the Elkhart Central 4A Sectional Saturday night. The Tigers bean the Elkhart Memorial Crimson Chargers, 55-50. Now 20-2 and ranked sixth in the state, they will play the winner of Monday night’s Merrillville vs. Valparaiso game at noon CST/1 p.m. EST on Saturday at Michigan City.
South Bend Washington will play Munster in game one at 10 a.m. CST/11 a.m. EST.
In Saturday night’s win, Warsaw’s Nic Moore scored 28 points including 8
three-point field goals while Justin Clemens was also in double figures with 14 points. Jordyn Coon led the rebound effort with 7 caroms while Clemens and Moore also had 6 rebounds each. Lucas Grose controlled the
middle on defense and hauled in 5 rebounds.
In 3A Columbia City Sectional action, Wawasee won the title with a defeat over West Noble, 86-73. Wawasee was led by Jacob Thompson who scored 36 points and Riley Stitcher who netted another 28.
