A violation of a restraining order led to a police pursuit and eventually the tazing of a man who is now behind bars.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputies were called at noon Sunday to 12595 S. CR 700W, Silver Lake, where Ronald Lee Bailey, 41, of Silver Lake, was allegedly violating a restraining order.
By the time officers arrived Bailey had already left the residence, but while officers were still at the home, Bailey approached again in his vehicle. He quickly turned around and fled the area.
County officers pursued Bailey and caught up with him on SR 14 near the area of CR 500W. He led the officers on a high-speed chase to 9233 S. Packerton Road where he left the vehicle and attempted to run on foot. Bailey disregarded the officers’ demands to stop and was then stunned with a non-lethal Tazer gun and taken into custody.
Bailey was preliminarily charged with felony fleeing/resisting law enforcement, invasion of privacy/protective order violation, and driving while suspended.
The first 911 call that was placed pertaining to Bailey was received by Fulton County Sheriff’s deputies who said Bailey had rammed his vehicle into his estranged wife’s vehicle near Akron in Fulton County. Possible charges from that incident are most likely to be filed in Fulton County.
Bailey’s bond has been set at $2,000.00.
