Just about anything you want or need will be sitting along the road for you to purchase ‘on the cheap” during the sixth annual Lincoln Highway BUY-WAY Yard Sale, to be held Aug. 5, 6 and 7 across five states.
“This event has grown to national awareness in just five years,” said Mike Hocker, executive director of the Ohio–designated byway group, whose mission is economic development. The first year saw over 250 yard sales across Ohio’s portion of the historic Lincoln Highway, America’s first coast-to-coast paved road. The sale population increased substantially each year, and parts of Indiana and Illinois soon joined in, with West Virginia now setting out goods, as well as Iowa.
This is the fifth annual event in Kosciusko County according to Ken Locke, Kosciusko Co. Lincoln Highway Committee chairman. Locally there will be garage sales, especially on Saturday, Aug. 7, in downtown Warsaw, on the corner of West Old Road 30 and North 350 West - across from the Chinworth Bridge; Warsaw Wesleyan Church, 2402 W. Old Rd. 30; Old 30 West Antique & Flea Market, 3782 Old Rd. 30 W; and the Warsaw Community Public Library, 310 E. Main St., Warsaw.
Shoppers are encouraged to check each site for exact times. For more information on the Lincoln Highway call 574-268-7697 or Google: Kosciuko Lincoln Highway.
