A 3-year-old Nappanee boy was severely injured last night when his foot was run over by a lawn mower.
Though few details have been released, the accident happened in Elkhart County, but with all of Nappanee’s ambulances out on other runs, Bourbon medics of Multi-Township EMS responded to the call. The child somehow got in the way of a Bush hog commercial grade lawnmower and one of his feet was run over.
Officials say the child will lose his foot and perhaps need to have his leg amputated below the knee. He was flown to a Fort Wayne hospital. His condition was not available.
